4.4   First, the Must Dos

Productivity hack no.44 from '60 Ways to Hurray! by Ralph Varcoe.

In 4.2 we looked at whether to start small or start tough. There’s no right answer. We’re each likely to have a personal preference.

However, I would always advocate starting with the Must Dos.

Take the list from your important/urgent matrix or ABCDE and tackle the things that you must do ahead of anything else. These are likely to be the urgent ones if you’re at the start of your achieving journey. Once you’ve been doing it a while you’ll reduce the number of urgent things and have learned to delegate some of them.

If you’ve gone through the full process of defining your goals and the steps which need to be taken to get there in real detail, you’ll know what the Must Dos are.

I would advocate doing these whether they are hard or easy. If they are important to your end result you should get on with them.

And remember, just start the first one and use the momentum that builds to keep ploughing through.
